Summer In The Rear-View Mirror

Well, it was a summer, that’s for sure.

I felt like I was living on Dune what with the violent politics and civil unrest, parched landscape, disease, death, hot winds, raging fires and the sky the wrong color.

The worst of Dune because we didn’t possess spice or get to enjoy the spectacle of two moons.

I am more than ready for autumn this year. I want some sort of a breather, a hesitant tap on the “pause” button for a few things before launching into the winter.

The weather is going to turn cold in the next twenty-four hours. Not the usual random frost we get at this altitude but serious temps that will finish whatever is left outside.

I brought in the last of the garden flowers; the best part of this summer.
